City Preview
By Scott Hilsden July 17 2002
Here we are at last, ok its only a friendly but at last United are back in action. Thursday night sees the U’s return to action in the now annual friendly at Milton Road to take on Cambridge City.
The U’s open the pre-season fixtures with a short trip across the river to Milton Road, one of the few venues that United won away from the Abbey last season.
U’s News
As usual with pre-season games expect many changes to be made during the game. Player wise there has been little news from the official Cambridge United site with still no announcement on which of the trialists have been kept on and which have been told they're not up to standard. Along with the majority, if not all the first team squad you can expect to see those that have been kept on to appear at some stage during the evening.

City News
No news on the official Cambridge City Website on the players that are likely to start but again expect to see most City players to make an appearance during the evening along with the odd trialist. There should be some familiar faces to U’s fans though as The Lilywhites have a number of Ex-Cambridge players in there current squad some of whom are Adam Wilde, Colin Vowden, Leon Gutzmore and Matt Clements.
City Star Man: Adam Wilde
Last seasons player’s player and supporters player of the year who has been training at the Abbey during the pre-season period to give him that little bit extra fitness for the new season.
