It's been fairly busy day news wise if your a U's fan, so we thought we'd give you a round up of it all. For a brief report on all todays headlines read on.
No need to visit all the other websites for todays news, because we've got it all right here!

The seasons getting closer but unluckily for Daniel Chillingworth he's been sidelined for a little longer after a setback in training. He's been ordered no twisting or turning for the next 6 weeks, with a suspected reaction to the recent operation he has under-gone. Let's hope he returns to full fitness as soon as possible.

Most people received their season tickets today. With around 2000 of them being sent out, a recent poll on this site siggested fans think they are good value for money. Got yours yet?

Chairman Gary Harwood has told the official site that there is 'Good News and Bad news' regarding the financial situation. The good news is that it looks like we have survived pre-season and that League football will be returning to the Abbey come Saturday 10th of August.
The bad news is that the money we have received from the football league this year totals £199,000. Although this may sound like good news, the way it is being payed to us is not the most helpful. It will be paid in two installments; one in October 2002 and one in April 2003.

Another piece of bad news is we are still a lot of money short on being able to redevelop the north end of the ground. Around another £600,000 / £700,000 is needed before work can begin on redevloping the North Terrace. The discussions with City on ground sharing which would fund the redevlopment are still going on, but at a slow pace. Gary Harwood says he doesn't expect us to come near to a conclusion from these discussions until the Spring of 2003.
