Yesterday Cambridge United called Sunderland to see if there was any chance of them cutting the number of tickets for the Worthington Cup 2nd round game and the Black Cats kindly agreed
Yes thats right folks if you haven't yet got your tickets you have been given one last chance! Yesterday when it became clear that tickets for the Main Stand, Newmarket Road End and The North Habbin United contacted The Black Cats and they kindly agreed to give up the South Habbin tickets, making an extra 900 tickets available for U's fans.
The sponsors of the home kit, Quicksilver Messenger Services collected the tickets from Sunderland and transported them back to the Abbey. The extra tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis and will go on general sale from 9am on Thursday 26th along with those unclaimed by season ticket holders by 5 today.
Speaking through Official Site Webmaster Andrea Thrussell chairman Gary Harwood said " This game has certainly created an incredible buzz in the City of Cambridge. With a full house against Sunderland on the Tuesday, prior to our Family Day versus Wrexham on the following Saturday, we are certainly anticipating a very hectic and exciting week. Season Ticket holders especially have been very supportive of the Club during recent difficult times, but there was a danger some regular supporters may have missed out on the game. Now, however, with the injection of the 900 tickets returned by Sunderland, we are hopeful that the demand from all fans can be met."
Tickets can be brought in person at the clubs ticket office or via phone subject to a £1 booking fee. The ticket office phone number is 01223 566500
Tickets for the family day on October 5th for the game against Wrexham are now on sale for the Main Stand and the South Stand adn are priced at just £5 for Adults and £1 for concessions.
