Pools hope for Holland history repeat
By Charlie Summerbell
July 7 2010
Hartlepool United head for Holland in the next few days for a week's training, including two pre-season friendly games, hoping that the trip abroad benefits them as much as it has in previous seasons. By the time they arrive, the host country might even be celebrating winning the World Cup.

One of the games is against FC Den Bosch, a side they last played four years ago in the build-up to their 2006-07 promotion season.
They'll be hoping that history repeats itself.
That game in ‘s Hertognebosch is on Thursday July 15, two days after Pools play Almere City in Heiloo.
The facilities in Holland have always come in for praise from Pools, and there's no doubt that Chris Turner will be hoping that some of the professionalism and attention to detail that has seen the Netherlands perform so well in South Africa rubs off on his squad.
After missing out on Roy O'Donovan after his successful loan last season, Turner says he wants a player just like him before the season starts.
So far, though, Pools have only managed to sign a new PA announcer. It's not clear yet whether Phil Dunn can operate up front, but he looks as if he could do with some work on his fitness.
