KK - staying
And manager Danny Wilson is delighted with the news.
Though many fans were sceptical when Kyle was signed for his initial one-month loan, the former Scotland international made a positive impression, scoring three goals in seven games and generally posing a real problem for opposing defences.
Now the Hartlepool Mail is reporting that the deal has been extended until January, which means Kyle will play againt MK Dons at the Vic on Saturday.
Wilson told the Mail: "The input and impact Kevin had in a relatively short period of time he was here was tremendous.
"He helped us back to winning ways, you need that bit of strength and stability up front he brings. I'm delighted and grateful that Kevin wants to come back here.
"He could have gone elsewhere, but he chose to take us and that is fantastic news from our point of view. His background is very much in the North-East so that was a big factor.
"I'm not saying him coming here was all down to an offer from Hartlepool. But he likes the type of football we play and the service he gets and the opportunity to score goals which will put himself in the shop window."
FOOTNOTE - two days after this story first appeared on the Mail website, it's on the club site at last. We can only guess that they were tying up the loose ends with Coventry. They say they are still negotiating to see if Kyle is availablke for the FA Cup..
