But after clean sheets in their last two games, wins over Broighton at home and Carlisle away, the Pools defence looks in better shape than it has all season and they have every right to be,lieve they can get a good result.
Danny Wilson (right) - remember him, he's the one the moaners wanted sacking a couple of weeks ago - says that while Orient are going through a bad patch, they'll be hoping to get back on track with a win against "a small club from the North East."
That's exactly how teams from anywhere south of Nottingham regard Pools (and Darlo, Rochdale, Lincoln, etc etc etc for that matter), and that's one of the reasons why it's always better to get a result darn sarf than it is anywhere else.
Wilson has been trying to extend the loan of striker Kevin Kyle - remember him, he's the one the moaners described as a donkey - from Coventry, and after the big Scot scored three goals in his last three games, it's not surprising.
Pools face a testing time in November, the Orient game being followed by the FA Cup trip to brighton, MK Dons at home, Leeds away and Bristol Rovers at home.
Another win would set them up nicely.
