Richard Barker
We don't know who it's against, and we don't particularly care either.
Meanwhile, Rotherham fans are specualating that Barker will be back with his home-town club this weekend, on loan with a view to a permanent deal. The rumours have been fulled, of course, by Pools' signing of Kevin Kyle this week.
As usual, Pools are saying nowt. There's more secrecy at the Vic now than there is at MI6. At least the secret service leave files on trains now and again - Pools don't even do that.
After drawing 3-3 at home to a very good Oldham team in their last home game then losing by the only goal at highly-fancied Leicester last weekend, Pools should be expected to chalk up a vitory against a Swindon side which has not had the best of starts to the season.
F
ormer Sunderland striker Kyle, signed on a month's loan from Coventry, is likely to start on the bench as Pools assess his match fitness, but his presence might just act as a gee-up for James Brown and Joel Porter (left).
The two strikers have been amongst the team's best performers so far this season, but could do with scoring one or two more goals.
That might sound like a strange criticim when Pools have done so well in front of goal, specially in their home games. But a lot of chances have been missed and if a bigger percentage had gone in, they would surely be higher up the table - remember the Stockport game?
Mind you, whether Kyle can solve that sort of problem remains to be seen - he does score goals, but while Brown and Porter scare opponents when the bll is on the deck, Kyle is more likely to do it when it's in the air.
Only time will tell.
