Richard Barker - goal
Probably not, because the critics will always be there.
But Wilson and his players have given them a perfect reply in the last week. Losing at home to Stockport was a big disappointment, but it wasn't the end of the world because Pools had played well and deserved something from the game.
beating West Brom on merit three days after the Stockport setback was a start, and winning 2-1 at Peterborough kept up the good work.
Not only did Pools defend well when they had to, with keeper Arran Lee-Barrett showing more progress, but they cashed in and took their chances when Poh made defensive mistakes.
Andy Monkhouse (right)and sub Richard Barker got the goals, Barker with his first touch just seconds after replacing James Brown.
Wilson has been criticised for his substitutions in the past, but they are working like a charm this season. Barker and David Foley scored as subs againt West Brom, and big Richard did it again at Peterboough.
It was a professional all-round team performance that deserves a lot of praise. But of course it won't get it from a small minority who can only see the bad points.
Pools have been drawn away to Leeds United in the third round of the Carling Cup. Wilson has described it as a fantastic draw because his team played so well there in League One last season.
Everybody at the club would have preferred to be at home, but if it had to be away, most fans would have gone to a big clubrather than another from League One (controversial or what?)
