Pools poor run proves the club's fans wrong
By Clarence Rode March 6 2008
Most of Hartlepool United's fans expected the team to be involved in a promotion campaign this season, a year after Danny Wilson led the team to a successful season in League Two. Only a minority of them expected the side to be in danger of relegation, while jujst over a third predicted a season of mid-table obscurity.

They are the results of Poolsonline's pool, when we asked whether fans expected the side to be involved in the League One promotion race, to spend the season consolidating in a mid-table position, or to be in danger of instand relegation back to League Two.
The season isn't over yet, of course, but we aren't too far off the end and it would now take a m ajor miracle for the side the climb into contention for a place in the play-offs.
Instead, despite their good start to the season, Pools have been hovering above the relegation zone and at times have looked like being sucked into the battle to avoid the drop.
The voting figures in the poll were:

  • Pools involved in promotion - 38.89%
    Pools in mid-table obscurity - 36.11%
    Pools in a relegation battle - 25.00%

Only time will tell who is exactly right, but it looks like obscurity for us this season. But at least it's better than swapping leagues with D*rlo.
Now have your say in our new pool and answer this question:

  •  Is Danny Wilson the man to lead Pools next season?
