Danny Wilson - frustrated
Manager Danny Wilson says he's sick of saying that mistakes in the penalty area have costs his team a result, and the fans are sick of hearing him say it as well.
Pools are not as good a team now as they were last season in League Two, and even if they surive and stay in League One, a major rethink is needed to get the team back to somewhere near as good as it was three seasons ago.
They give too many daft goals away at the back, don't dominate in midfield as much as they should, and waste too many chances when they are attacking.
Basically, then, major surgery is needed.
At Bournemouth, goals from Sam Vokes in six and 44 minutes were enough to beat a Pools side who could only mjuster a couple of half-hearted penalty appeals and one or two half-chances when they attacked.
Bournemouth are noit a good side and will probably go down. On the day, though, they probably deserved to win. So what does that say about Pools?
Fortunately, Sam Collins is back after his four-match suspension, and that should add some steadiness to the back four. But now matter how good Collins is, one man isn't going to solve all the current problems.
Teams go through bad patches as well as good ones and fans of few clubs can expect success season after season, but Pools have frustrasted their fans this season with an alarming level of inconsistency, an worrying number of defensive mistakes and far topo many missed chances.
I's been one of those seasons.
