What is the ground like?
If you had never heard of Huddersfield Town before you would expect them to be a top Premiership club with a ground like they have. The ground is a highly impressive, well built ground made by Sir Alfred McAlpine. The facilities are excellent with such things as a health club, small hotel, swimming pool and a ten screen multiplex cinema. Other good things are a Golf Range, landscaping and a few car parks. All of the facilities including all the stands which altogether hold about 25,000 people, only cost £28M. This isn't a large price for a stadium that is arguably the best ground in the second division.
What is it like for away fans?
Travelling away supporters will enjoy their stay down at the Alfred McAlpine Stadium. They will be sat in the Gardner Merchant Stand. For disabled supporters 169 spaces are allocated for both home and away fans. There are three possible sections for them to sit in; Gardner Merchant Stand, Riverside Stand and John Smith Stand. One helper is allowed per disabled supporter.
Where is their for away fans to drink?
There are plenty of places to drink, however, most fans recommend the Bradley Mills Working Men's Club, The Peacock and Rickys Bar. These are all situated on Leeds Road, about 5-10 minutes walk from the ground. The problem with these though, is they only allow home fans in, but you may get away with not wearing your teams strip. The same situation applies to The Rope Walk pub, behind the North Stand. The pub which you will certainly get into though, is the Gas Club. This pub allows family, away fans and anybody in.
How to get their and where to park?
Directions from North, East and West: Exit the M62 at Junction 25 and take the A644 and A62 following signs for Huddersfield. Then follow signs for Football Ground, Alfred McAlpine Stadium, Huddersfield FC or something along those lines. From the South of the country: Leave the M1 at Junction 38, then follow A637 or A642 to Huddersfield. At the Ring Road, follow signs for the A62 to the stadium. There are a few car parks nearby. The nearest one is situated at the ground and cost £3. There are lots of other car parks, but the safest bet is with the club one.
Where is the nearest train station?
The nearest train station is "Huddersfield Train Station", it is about a 15-20 minute walk from the stadium.
