What is the ground like?
Hillsborough is one of the largest grounds in division 1 with a capacity of 39,859 and is all seated. The ground has 4 separate stands all covered apart from the corner next to the away end, which is uncovered. The Kop, which is opposite, holds 11,210 and is the stand where nearly all the singing comes from. The South Stand holds 11,354 and has 2 tiers. This was improved for Euro 96. The North Stand holds 9,255 and was the first Cantilever stand to be built in Britain. Finally the Leppings lane end which has 2 tiers and is where the away supporters will be seated and holds around 7,000 and also has a corner section that joins it to the North Stand.
What is it like for away fans?
The away supporters are situated on the upper tier of the Leppings Lane end (which holds around 3,700) but with the teams that bring large away followings, the lower tier and corner sections are made available. As long as I have been going to watch Sheffield Wednesday I have rarely heard of any trouble between the home fans and away, it is pretty safe to walk around in team colours without getting much hassle.
Where is their for away fans to drink?
I am not too sure where away fans can go for a drink as most of the pubs near the ground are home fans only, but I am sure if u walk a little further you will come across a pub in which away fans are allowed in.
How to get their and where to park?
You can exit the M1 at junction 36 and travel along the A61 into Sheffield, you will eventually arrive at Hillsborough, the way I prefer is come off the M1 at junction 34 at Meadowhall and travel along the road as if u were heading into the city centre and go right at the traffic lights near the abbey national building then follow the road round and go right at the traffic lights, then take the left when you come to more traffic lights, after this its more or less a job of following the road straight on and when you come to roundabout carry straight on, and you will come out a few minutes walk away from Hillsborough.

There are numerous car parks near Hillsborough Stadium mainly up the road where Hallam FM is situated which are all around £2 to £3, there is also street parking, but allot of the time you will find a place in a car park fairly easy.

Where is the nearest train station?
The nearest train station is in Sheffield city centre which is about 10-15 minutes bus ride away, if you go to flat street which is the road next to the bus interchange, with allot of bus stops along it u can get the 53 Ecclesfield bus which will take you past Hillsborough and will also stop directly outside the ground, also there are football specials that go to the ground on match days, but are mainly used by home supporters, on some occasions when I’ve been on some away fans have traveled without any trouble

You can also get the yellow tram to Leppings Lane, which is next to Hillsborough, which costs roughly about £2; you can get on the tram from the train station.
