What is the ground like?
The ground is very compact, and, right up until the end of the 2001/2002 season, had 4 stands of equal height, creating a Lego-brick feel to the ground. When development work is finished the ground will have it's first 2 tiered, cantilever stand, and the ground will be more in keeping with the English First Division. The ground was only built in 1990, and offers food and drink inside the ground. All the stands are undercover.
What is it like for away fans?
The Bescot is a nice ground with good fans, and you should have an enjoyable time there. If you come on a coach, you should be able to park right by the turnstiles. Away fans are behind the goal, which gives you a good view of the action. However, be carefull you do not get a seat behind a pillar holding up the roof! No alcohol is served in the ground. The away fans should enjoy their time at the Bescot. Away fans are usually allocated roughly 2000 tickets.
Where is their for away fans to drink?
No booze is served in the ground, but you can buy all the usual light snacks and cold drinks in the ground. Just around the corner on the retail park is a McDonalds, so you can buy cold drinks there. The Morrisons supermarket has a cafe, and opposite is a pub which welcomes small numbers of away fans. If you find yourself in the town centre, then there are numerous student bar type places to choose from.
How to get their and where to park?
To get there by car, leave the M6 at Junction 9, where it is signposted Wednesbury. Take the A461 towards Walsall, and when the road devides take Wallows Lane. You will then pass Morrisons Supermarket on your left. Get in the right hand lane when you reach a set of traffic lights. Turn right into Bescot Cresent, and follow the road past the Retail Park. You will then see the ground on your left. You park on the Retail Park, or on the streets around the ground. You can also park in the town centre and get the 405 bus.
Where is the nearest train station?
The ground has it's own train station, Bescot Stadium Station. The station is served by trains from Walsall town centre station, and Birmingham New Street. Trains from Brum are quite regular, but there is no Sunday service. Once you get off the train, you pop over a bridge and before your eyes is the ground.
