Staines Must Wait For New Ground
By Paul Holland
August 15 2002
Staines Town Football Club will not be able to move back to their own ground for the start of the season because Whaetsheaf Park will still be undergoing £6,000,000 facelift.
So the Ryman League Club, which ground shared with Walton last season, could use Egham's ground for first six league fixtures.

General manager Chris Wainwright said "Our stadium probably won't be ready until mid-October as we need to ensure all the heavy construction equipment is off the site before we return, but we are also talking to Egham as that is nearer for our fans".

The new ground will incorporate a private health club, a new club house, restaurant, conference facilities, gym, weight training room and swimming pool and secretary Steve Parsons describes the redevelopment as "the biggest thing that has happened in Staines 100-year history".
