Report: Ujpest 3-2 Town

Ipswich Town slipped to their second defeat of pre-season after losing 3-2 against Hungarian side Ujpest yesterday.

Town started the game well going 1-0 up after Nicky Forster was brought down in the box and awarded a penalty which Darren Currie converted.

Five minutes later the home side were level after Peter Rajezi managed to beat Lewis Price from a tight angle, which was followed up with more bad news for Town with Nicky Forster going off injured, Dean Bowditch coming on in his place.

Bowditch strengthened his push for a starting place next season when he scored Town’s second from a Jim Magilton corner to make it 2-1 to Town heading into the break.

Rajezi scored his second of the game on 52 minutes and Ujpest took the lead with 10 minutes to when Istvan Vituska fired home.

As if losing the game wasn’t enough Town may have to start the season with out Jim Magilton who got sent off 5 minutes before the end of the game following a bust up with Rajezi, although Town are expected to appeal the ban.
