Jim: Both Penalties
By Aston
November 29 2008
Town manager Jim Magilton says that both Town's and Sheffield United's penalties earlier today were correctly awarded, although he was disappointed to have conceded one.
Jim: "We didn't play that well but a win against Sheffield United would have been a good result and we were only a couple of minutes away from that, we just needed to stay strong and see the game out and to be fair, we defended very well. Gareth McAuley won a lot of headers and had a good game and Alex (Bruce) was solid for us as well.

"I don't know what Quinny was doing really for the penalty really. I'm sure Kevin Blackwell was disappointed with his player for our penalty and it was the same for me. They were both penalties.

"We were tentative for the first 20 minutes and lacked a bit of sharpness. We were better in the second-half and had one or two chances but when we had our noses in front and you are nearly across the line, we definitely have to see it as two points dropped."

Re: Jim: Both Penalties
Norris was unlucky in the first half with his shot that Paddy Kenny turned around the post, Wrighty made a world class save too in the 2nd half. Both penalties looked a bit suss, ours was said to be for handball on the radio, but seeing the incident the local news said it was for a foul on Counago (which was'nt a foul, he fell over), and the Quinny handball for theirs, I don't know what he was doing sticking his arms up in the air. Counago's cracking strike, that hit the inside of the post and came back out across the line was unlucky for us.
2 points dropped definatley
