STB message boarder Leggi is back again and is once again giving us an insight into Town's opposition, on Saturday Town face Sheffield United at Portman Road.

Sheffield United

Town entertain Sheffield United at Portman Road on Saturday, with both clubs aiming to get back to winning ways, after suffering defeats in midweek to the leading two clubs in The Championship. While Ipswich lost 2-1 at St Andrews, The Blades were being beaten by Wolves 3-1 at Bramall Lane.

Kevin Blackwell's side currently sit fourth in the table, just four points ahead of eleventh place Town, They gained their biggest win of the season last weekend, beating Charlton 5-2 at The Valley, a defeat too many for Mr Pardew, who left the club hours after the game. The midweek defeat by Wolves is their biggest loss so far, although they did also lose by a two goal margin against Reading (0-2) earlier in the season. Overall The Blades campaign so far reads: Played 19, won 9, drawn 4, and 6 defeats. They have scored 26 goals and conceded 16. James Beattie has notched 8 of those goals so far, Billy Sharp and Stephen Quinn have also added 4 each.

United should welcome back Ugo Ehiogu into the starting line up on Saturday after completing his ban, and beware Pablo, Thug Chris Morgan will also be in the starting eleven, after learning this week the FA will take no further action on the defender after Fracturing Ian Humes skull in the South Yorkshire derby against Barnsley earlier in the month.

Referee for the game is 31-year-old, Dean Whitestone from Northampton, he has never officiated a game involving Ipswich before, but refereed The Blades 1-0 victory over Preston this season, booking 6 players in that game.

Match fact: Sheffield United have won only 1 of their last 18 games at Portman Road.

Form table:
(7th) Ipswich Town P6 W3 D1 L2 F7 A4
(8th) Sheffield Utd P6 W3 D1 L2 F10 A8

Match fact: Town have received more red cards against Sheffield Utd than any other club (10 red cards so far).

Our League record at Portman Road against The Blades:
Played: 27
Won: 13
Drawn: 11
Lost: 3
Goals:
For: 43
Against: 21

Our biggest victory came in November 2004 in a Championship game, Tommy Miller, Shefki Kuqi (2) Richard Naylor and Ian Westlake helping Town to a 5-1 win. All of our 3 defeats to United have been by 1-0 in 1960, 1974 and 1975.

The highest attendance watched a Division one game in 2003. 26,151 saw Town win by 3 goals to 2, Darren Bent(2) and Darren Ambrose with the goals. The lowest gate of just 9,695 watched a 2-2 draw in 1992. Andy Legg and Neil Gregory with our goals.

Since our first meeting in 1958, home and away and in all competitions, Town have faced Sheffield United 61 times, winning 22 Drawing 22 and Losing 17. We have scored 83 goals to United's 77. From those 61 games Ray Crawford is our leading scorer with 7 goals. James Scowcroft got 5 whilst Darren Bent, Neil Gregory and Shefki Kuqi each got 4.

17 Players have played for both clubs, they include, Alan Quinn and Jon Stead from today's squad, Gus Uhlenbeek, David Barnes and Brian Gayle from the past.

Leggi Predicts: I hope Morgan gets the reception he deserves from the Town faithful, I think Pablo is going to get a rough ride from this guy on Saturday, and with the Spaniard's short fuse he better be careful not to get sent off for a second time in his career against The Blades. All that aside, Kevin Blackwell, who I rate, has got his side playing some decent stuff this season, James Beattie is in excellent form and the return of giant Ehiogu will only boost United's chance's of gaining only their fourth win in Suffolk. Town, unlike Tuesday night, will need to get going from the start and take the game to The Blades, if not we could get punished. If we get Norris back in the starting 11 and maybe try Haynes instead of Ambrose, we should win this. I'll say 3-1 to the boys in blue.

Hi mate, I am a blade and just want to say a thing or to. I dont think you could be much more wrong about chris morgan. He is far from thug, it was a one of occasion that sadly ended up with bad concequenses. You clearly dont know much about morgan because the people who dont know him claim that he is a thug and a dirty player when really he just plays the game passionantly. Stop making the wrong assumptions and try and write some decent predicts, cheers pal
