Report: Town 2-1 Col U
By Aston August 26 2008
Town booked their place in the 3rd round of the Carling Cup after a 2-1 win against Colchester United at Portman Road earlier tonight.
A 28th minute goal from Pablo Counago gave Town the lead, but the 25-yard effort had to no right to bobble into the net as it lacked power and Colchester's Dean Gerken did get a hand to it.

Colchester United old boy Kevin Lisbie scored Town's second in the 58th minute, curling the ball in off the post after confusing the Col U defence. The visitors had a number of chances to score before they did with Richard Naylor clearing off the line and onto the bar, Richard Wright being forced to save a well taken free-kick.

Colchester's goal came in the 87th minute when Steven Gillespie lobbed Town goalkeeper Richard Wright to set up a nervous finish.
