Town were poor throughout the 90 minutes yesterday, by the 20th minute they had yet to trouble to Wolves defence but had been troubled on a number of occasions by the Wolves front line.
Chris Iwelumo was denied by Town goalkeeper Richard Wright in the 18th minute, but just 3 minutes later the visitors took the lead. Sylvan Ebanks-Blake beat Gareth McAuley to Matt Jarvis' cross and headed home.
Iwelumo looked like adding a second for Wolves soon after but he was again denied by Wright.
Town finally looked like a threat in the 38th minute, the Wolves defence was unable to deal with a cross from the right which found its way to Jon Walters who volleyed the ball over the bar.
Counago replaced Lee at the start of the second half as Town finally came to life. Counago set up Walters for an effort which was saved. Danny Haynes left the Wolves defence for dead but fired over.
Counago was denied by Hennessey before Wolves' Henry fired wide. Tommy Miller had a shoot cleared off the line on the hour mark.
Richard Stearman was denied by the post, Richard Naylor and Wright just before Alex Bruce was shown a red card for a tackle on David Jones.
A minute later Wolves doubled their lead when Dave Edwards was on hand to poke home the rebound after Richard Wright had been unable to hang on to Matt Jarvis' shot.
Wolves had chances to turn the score line into a mauling in the final 10 minutes or so with Edwards and Henry both being denied by Wright and Jarvis hitting the post in stoppage time.
