Jim: Defeat Deserved
By Aston August 24 2008
Town manager Jim Magilton says Town fully the deserved the 2-0 defeat against Wolves yesterday after being second best for much of the game.
Jim: "It took us 38 minutes to have our first shot at goal and that's not good enough, and it's certainly not good enough at home, we were well beaten by a better team on the day. They bossed the midfield to the point where it was embarrassing at times.

"If we think teams are going to come here and just allow us to play, then that is very naïve. I'm not naïve and my players better not be either.

"We didn't get our front players on the ball, the midfield was second best and I felt sorry for the defence because they had to deal with wave after wave of attacks.

"We were better for 20 minutes in the second-half and Pablo brightened us up a bit. He has the quality but he has to work harder for the team. It's not about the name on the back of the shirt, it's about the badge on the front.

"I can't really complain about the red card for Alex. If you leave the ground with two feet in the air, you are going to get a red card. He got a lot of the ball and there we no real complaints from their players but challenges like that are now getting red cards."
