Haynes Again Linked With Pompey
By Aston May 22 2008
Town striker Danny Haynes has once again been linked with a move to Premiership side Portsmouth with a £2 million being reported.
The 20-year-old is understood to have impressed Harry Redknapp during Portsmouth's FA Cup Tie against Town back in January and it is being reported that Portsmouth were keen on signing Haynes as part of a swap deal with David Nugent when Town wanted Nugent.

Although Haynes is flattered by the reported interest of Premiership clubs he is currently concentrating on his holidays, saying: "It is nice to know Premier League clubs are interested in you because it means you are doing something right.

"I would love to play at that level one day, any player would, but I am not thinking about anything until I come back from holiday.

"It was disappointing that we (Ipswich) missed out on the play-offs especially because we had taken it down to the final day.

"Next season hopefully the squad will be a little bit more experienced and if we can sort the away form then we will be in with a chance."

Re: Haynes Again Linked With Pompey
I'd let him go for £2m, he has proved all last season that he has no end product, he might be able to beat a few players but he does'nt get his head up and look for a team mate, £2m we'll have done a good deal!!!
