Simpson to cost £1.5M
By Aston May 11 2008
Town have reportedly been told that it will cost around £1.5 million to take Danny Simpson away from Old Trafford in the summer.
The 21-year-old defender spent the closing stages on-loan at Portman Road from the current Premiership Champions, he made a total of 8 appearances for Town and impressed in them all. It looked unlikely that Simpson would be staying at Portman Road beyond the end of his loan after he was told by Sir Alex Ferguson that he is part of his plans for next season but with Wes Brown staying at Old Trafford and Gary Neville now fit it is being reported that Simpson no longer has a future at United.

Town may have to compete with Wigan, Birmingham and Sunderland to sign Simpson but he may find getting games easier at Portman Road as Town may have just one other right back at the start of next season as Fabian Wilnis has been released and Sito could be on his way out as well leaving just David Wright as competition for Simpson if he were to join.

Is Simpson worth £1.5 million? Leave your view below.

Yeah, I'd snap him up for that price. Our defence definatley improoved since his arrival, and would be a welcome addition to our squad
