Jim On Simpson Move
By Aston March 21 2008
Town manager Jim Magilton is delighted to have signed Manchester United defender Danny Simpson on-loan from the Premiership Champions.
Simpson has joined Town on-loan until the end of the regular season and the play-offs and Jim couldn't be happier to have him at Portman Road.

Jim: "We have been tracking Danny this season and I've been keen to bring him in on loan for a while, I spoke with Sir Alex Ferguson on Thursday and he said he would be happy for the lad to come here.

"Danny made it clear he is keen to join us and play first-team football and I'm delighted we have been able to make the loan happen. He will add some quality to the squad and hopefully help take us where we want to be.

"His arrival will add to the competition for places into the team and that is something we need all over the park if we are to be successful."

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is also pleased for Danny to have made the trip south, saying: "It will be good for Danny to go out on loan and get some first team football.

"Ipswich are a good footballing team and we are happy for him to go there."
