Preview: Scunny – Town
By Aston March 21 2008
Town have the chance to return to the top six tomorrow afternoon if they can beat Nigel Adkins Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park.
Town will go into tomorrow's game without David Norris, Jon Walters, Shefki Kuqi and Richard Naylor but Manchester United loanee Danny Simpson should be in the squad if all the paperwork is completed in time, Jordan Rhodes, Liam Trotter and Gavin Williams could return to the squad.

Possible Town squad: Bywater; Wright, Bruce, De Vos, Simpson, Sito; Haynes, Sumulikoski, Garvan, Quinn; Lee, Counago; Colgan, Harding, Miller, Rhodes, Trotter, Williams, Casement, Roberts.

Town manager Jim Magilton: no pre-match thoughts currently available

Town fans are reminded that there are no cash turnstiles tomorrow afternoon.

Scunthorpe have doubts over the fitness of Midfielder Grant McCann and defender Marcus Williams, Cliff Byrne is also a doubt for The Iron.

Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins: "We are looking at Saturday's game as one we have got to win, we are confident we can get a result from it. The players' spirit is still high, the work ethic is still there, and it is a game which need to win."

"They are another side gunning for promotion to the Premiership, they have had massive investment and are a very, very good side.

"We were very unfortunate when we went down to Portman Road. We took the game to them and nearly ended their fine home run at that time."

Possible Scunthorpe United squad: Murphy; Hobbs, Crosby, Butler, Baraclough; Cork, Goodwin, McCann, Morris; Paterson, Horsfield; Lillis, Sparrow, Hayes, Weston, May, Hunt.

Match odds:
Town: 6/4
Draw: 23/10
Scunthorpe: 15/8

Referee: I G Williamson
Assistants: M J Foley and J Waring
Fourth Official: K W Haycock

Oddly this game is more important then Charlton last week, its time for our players to perform against teams that are not doing well.

Every game is important now, I'd say we can only afford to lose one game in the run in, our injuries have come at the worse possible time. The dream is still on...just!

And we can send Col u and Norwich down in the progress(Sm151)

Im going for a 2-1 Town win but it won't be easy on a pudding of a pitch and a team fighting for there lifes we will have to be up for it.

Full Time
Scunthorpe 1-2 Ipswich

Good Result for us there with alot of other teams around us dropping points and it could've been alot better if Wolves and Palace hadn't equalised late on.

We're still up there though and makes next week another Must win game Vs QPR!
