Bent has struggled to hold down a first team place since his transfer from Charlton to Spurs in the summer and he is reportedly keen on a loan return to Town and Spurs boss Juande Ramos is keen on letting him play football somewhere but is concerned that letting Bent go could leave him short on strikers.

If Bent doesn't make the return to Portman Road Jim Magilton could try for one of his other reported targets which include Fulham's David Healy, Bolton's Heidar Helguson, Derby's Rob Earnshaw and Kenny Miller aswell as Reading's Dave Kitson.
