Report: Town 2-3 PNE
By Aston
October 18 2006
Town’s normal show of sloppy defending let Preston fight back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Portman Road last night.

Town took the lead after ten minutes when Matt Hill brought down Mark Noble in the box and the referee awarded a penalty which Jon Macken converted.

The lead was doubled on 37 minutes when Alan Lee headed home a Matt Richards cross.

Preston got a goal back 8 minutes into the second half when David Nugent fired home, they made it 22 just 3 minutes later when Liam Chilvers headed home and the come back was complete when Simon Whaley was allowed to run at goal almost unopposed to fire the ball past Price in the Town goal.

It could have been four for Preston when Lewis Price took a free kick about 10yards inside the Town half only to scuff it to a Preston player who hit the bar from about 40 yards.
