Report: QPR 1-3 Town
By Aston
August 26 2006
Town picked up their first win of the season when they beat Queens Park Rangers 3-1 at Loftus Road last night.

The game was goalless at half time although Billy Clarke had hit the bar for Town and Dexter Blackstock had shot saved by Price.

The home side took the lead just 13 minutes into the second half when Kevin Gallen bundled the ball over the line as the Town defence failed to clear Blackstock’s cross.

Town were level four minutes later after referee Lee Mason awarded Town penalty after Damion Stewart brought down Gavin Williams in the box, Simon Walton replaced Matt Richards as Town’s spot kick taker and duly converted from 12 yards.

Williams smacked the post for the QPR defence to clear for a corner which Mark Noble took for Alan Lee to flick on to Jason De Vos who tapped in. The points were made safe with 5 minutes to go when Dean Bowditch headed in Williams’ deflected cross.
