Danny Mills has become the latest Leeds star to agree a new long-term deal with the Elland Road club.

This week Alan Smith put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half year contract which guarantees the 22-year-old's future with Leeds up to the summer of 2006.

Teenager James Milner is also on the brink of signing a professional contract which will see him be given a ten-fold increase on his current £80-per-week terms.

Mills has been in talks with Leeds over the last couple of months regarding a new contract, and the 25-year-old was expected to sign a new five-year deal next week.

Mills joined Leeds from Charlton in June, 1999, with the Norwich-born defender having since stepped up to international level during his time with the club.

Mills has earned 13 caps and was an integral member of England coach Sven Goran Eriksson's World Cup squad last summer.

Mills's new deal is expected to earn him more than £30,000-per-week and will take him up to the summer of 2008.
