Chelsea Dismantle Everton

By Gary Watton
April 30 2017

A trio of second half goals and miracle of miracles, a clean sheet too, well holy cow that was an even better result than the five-nil thrashing of the Toffees back in November. Even this old sceptic is coming around to the idea that Chelsea just might win the Premier League after all! If only we could play Evercrap every week, because the so-called champions-elect have remarkably finished with an aggregate of eight-nil against the otherwise formidable Toffees this season. In addition, it kind of slipped under the radar, but Chelsea have officially or mathematically qualified to dine at the top table of next season's Champions League. I recall the night in May 1999 when we first qualified for the CL. It was major news. Nowadays it's pretty much taken for granted. How time has changed!

Meanwhile back at that ranch, hearty congratulations are extended to Tibo Courtois and his defence for belatedly re-acquainting themselves with a shut out. A major round of applause is granted to Pedro for a stunning goal which rescued the visitors from a potential bore draw. Then there is good old Gary Cahill who has now morphed into a goals machine. Cesc once again reminded us that he is king of the assists. Finally, Willian was also a super-sub. The guy never moans to the media about being left on the bench. He just makes the very most of his limited opportunities. What's not to like about this team and their charismatic manager? No doubt an envious Manure will be wanting him next.....
