Town's on-loan full back Bradley Orr is set to return to parent club Blackburn Rovers after Saturday's clash with Bristol City after new Rovers boss Michael Appleton decided not to allow the player to spend a longer loan spell at Portman Road.
Orr joined Town on loan in the middle of November and has since represented the Blues on 12 occasions at right back, which has allowed skipper Carlos Edwards move further up the pitch to a wide midfield position.
The two clubs originally agreed to extend Orr's loan until the end of the season whilst previous boss Henning Berg was in charge, but since then Appleton has replaced the former Manchester United defender in the hot-seat and with the paperwork not having already been completed to extend the loan, the new Blackburn boss has decided Orr has a part to play at Ewood Park.
Confirming the news to the Official Blackburn Rovers website, former Portsmouth boss Appleton said: "100% he'll be back here after Saturday's game to be a Blackburn player.
"He is someone I have tried to sign a couple of times, he's got a vast experience of the championship. He's very vocal, he's a good character, a good personality and he is someone who I'd rather have in my side than up against me.
"For me it is almost like a new signing, he's a lad that has got lots and lots of games in the championship and someone that is going to be vital for us between now and the end of the season."
