Another club linked with striker

Northampton Town are the latest club to declare an interest in Crewe's Calvin Zola. Zola was made available for loan by Dario Gradi after dropping down the pecking order at Gresty Road.

Zola has so far rejected offers from Bradford City, Burton Albion, Southend United and Shrewesbury town insisting on improved wages and the option to make the move permanent in January. This could however prove a stumbling block Calvin's move to Sixfields due to a lack of available funds.

Northampton Chairman David Gardoza told BBC Northampton: "We need a striker, we're working on that. We might have some news on one later this week. Zola is one that we've looked at and he is available. They want some money for him so I don't know if this will happen till January anyway. We'd be happy to have him if we can pull it off."
