Dunne and Tudor Linked With Newcastle Moves
By Matthew Jones
December 8 2004
Newcastle United have been linked with moves for both Manchester City defender Richard Dunne and Juventus defender Igor Tudor.
Graeme Souness needs to improve his back line if his side are to seek some kind of success this season, and Dunne and Tudor are the newest names to be linked to the St James Park based club.

Reports this morning suggest that a bid would be made in January for the Irish international, who has put in some impressive performances for his club in recent weeks.

Manchester City will be reluctant to sell their £5 million rated defender.

It is believed that Souness will also make a move for Tudor in January, but he will face competition off West Brom. £3 million is being asked by Juventus for Tudor, who has a record of injuries.

Tudor was offered to clubs in the summer - but Juventus decided to offer him a new deal at the time. The time has now come though for Tudor to leave, and it looks likely that the defender will come to England.

One of his representatives was quoted as saying: ‘Tudor would like to come to England, but he would be looking for a club playing in Europe.’
