Andy Griffin isnt best happy with the talk about him and a move to Brimingham. Depsite not playing since the Carling Cup game against West Brom Albion.
Since his 3 match ban from being sent off in the reserves has kept him out of action and he has not been chosen to play in the first team - Sir Bobby Robson has favourer Aaron Hughes to do the job!
"Football's a funny old game, the next game I could be involved," said Griffin. "I need to keep playing reserve team football and get games under my belt. If that call does come I'm in the right shape and right frame of mind."
Griffin seems sure that he will get that call up but with the rumours flying he may just be on his way to Birmingham.
The defenders contract finishes at the end of the season concluding six years at the club.
"It's difficult for the manager to keep everyone happy...He can try his best but there's certain players that will be playing all the time. But I'll keep working hard and hopefully I can get back in there."
With the original idea of Solano also going to Birmingham the Midlands looks set to be alive with transfer news. Especially as Newcastle favoured Aston Villa over Birmingham in a deal for Solano.
