Beattie Speaks About Newcastle Transfer Rumours

Southampton striker James Beattie confirms knowing about rumours linking him with a summer move to Newcastle United.

Recent reports claim Newcastle are going to bid £12M for the striker, but speaking to the News of the World Beattie said:

"Since all the talk and rumours started, they've not left it alone.

"I get the smart comments in training all the time. 'Pass to us Beats cos you won't be here next season' and that kind of stuff.

"They keep on about it and I got hammered over the Newcastle rumours! But I just ignore it all."
