Mike Ashley Official Statement - Apology
By Tyne-Talk
May 26 2009
Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has released a statement of apology after he watched his club get relegated on Sunday afternoon. He has thanked the fans and praised the staff. He told the official club website nufc.co.uk
"Seeing Newcastle United relegated from the Premier League has been a catastrophe for us all. I fully accept that mistakes were made during this and previous seasons and I am very sorry for that.

I would like to say sorry to our magnificent supporters who have turned up in their thousands, home and away, up and down the country and who have given the team amazing backing throughout.

And I would also say sorry to all the Club's hard-working staff, who have gone about their jobs all year long.

Bringing Alan Shearer back to Newcastle United was the best decision I have made. Alan and his staff did all they could to try and keep us up in the short space of time they had.

Talks are now ongoing between us about how we can take this Club forward again."

Not alot of point bolting the stable door AFTER the horse has bolted (Sm102)

I had a great time in Mallorca but had to endure the final day of the season in a bar full of cockney tw@ts who all cheered when it was offically announced that the Toon were doon (Sm148)

Then when I returned today I had to go through Newcastle Circus (sorry, I meant Newcastle Airport).
Why is it easier to enter Spain than to re-enter your own country?
5 or 6 plane loads of people and only 3 blokes on the Passport control desks!!!
Then there was the fiasco of the overloaded/constantly jammed baggage belt.
Funny, Palma airport was much better/more efficient.
Rant Over.

In one of these speeces from Ashley he says,
"I bought this club, not as a football expert, as a fan."

That @#$%& me reet off! A fan of Spuds bought it as a fan of Spuds!!
So he did a brilliant job of what he wanted to do!
