Carr Retires After Failing To Find A Club
By Tyne-Talk
December 1 2008
Former Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur defender Stephen Carr has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 32, after failing to find a new club. The Republic of Ireland International left Newcastle when his contract came to an end in June of this year after an injury prone four years at the club.
Since leaving under Keegan's reign, Carr has been linked to a return back to Newcastle under Joe Kinnear and also a move to Leicester City, Wigan, Ipswich, QPR and Aston Villa, he has called it a day.

Despite being plagued with knee and foot injuries he made just over 300 Premier League appearances, 226 for Spurs, just 78 for Newcastle and was capped 44 times for his country after debuting in 1999 against Sweden. He retired from his international career for the second time in 2007.

Re: Carr Retires After Failing To Find A Club
thats becasue he's wack.

whenever he gets the ball he blazes it over the goal high and wide at every opportunity.

He's overweight, and slow and knows nothing about build up play when in the final third, just blazing it over.

Sorry if the assesment seems harsh but thats how i see him.

He didn't want to play in the U.S., apparently...c'mon Stephen, come on over and you'll get at least $40K/year...
