Michael Ord, speaking from the Newcastle United Supporters Club, said:
"For those who have agreed to pay by direct debit, the point of sale for next year will come when the VAT reduction applies and, therefore, they should not have to pay the full rate for the period up to December 31 2009.
Also, it would seem fair that those who paid up-front would get a refund."
A club statement released on the official website yesterday made no mention of season ticket holders and focused primarily on those coming through the turnstiles with their single match day ticket. This can be viewed at www.nufc.co.uk.
Additionally, a club spokesman told The Chronicle:
"Newcastle, like all Premier League clubs will now be looking at how this effects season ticket arrangements."
Newcastle's game against Tottenham Hotspur on 21st December will be their first match played under the new VAT % with Gallowgate End tickets costing £34 instead of £35.
Everton are the only other club to announce they will be passing on this VAT cut to fans.
