N'Zogbia Ignites Arsenal Gossip
By Tyne-Talk July 12 2008
Another day, another decision; Charles N'Zogbia is today linked with a move to Arsenal after mentioning his dreams of playing for them date back to his childhood. The confused 22 year old who originally said he felt homesick in the North East & wanted a move to London, with Spurs being his aim. N'Zogbia has since said he is happy at Newcastle, despite being more recently linked with Wigan.

N'Zogbia said in his most recent interview:

"At the end of last season, I didn't play a lot, so that has given me desire to play somewhere else.

When I talk with the coach it will be clearer. My priority is to play.

I have dreamt about Arsenal since I was kid. I would be delighted to join the Gunners.

It is a famous team that has big coverage in France. But Tottenham is exciting too.

I have never played in Ligue 1. That could be an experience in my career. But frankly, it is not my current priority.

I am playing in one of the best leagues in the world and I feel a little like at home here.''

Back in May the French Under 21 International dismissed rumours he was unhappy at the club, with the following interview:

"I am happy at Newcastle United and, to tell the truth, I have always been.

At the moment, all I am concentrating on in playing for France Under-21s in Sweden at the end of this month and then, like the rest of the Newcastle squad, I will be looking at what players we are going to sign."

Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan also backed the 21 year old to stay after it was revealed that Keegan refused to allow N'Zogbia to leave in January 08.

He said in April:

"Charles and his agent wanted to move him out during the transfer window and I wouldn't allow that.

I said if he did his best until the end of the season and felt the same way, I'd let him go - if he still wanted to go. But it would be on our terms.

If he can learn to be a team player with his individual skill, he will be a hell of an asset for any club."

He added:

"We have 16 or 17 players who are totally committed, as a pack, to taking this club forward and Charles has got to come into it a little bit more.

I think he has been told that by the other players. They know he can be a tremendous asset - but he has got to be fully, fully committed."

Should Newcastle allow the frenchman to leave it is likely to be for a fee within the region of £10million.

It does seem an odd sum which is being thrown around considering wigan were looking at a reported fee of £3.5m

N'Zogbia is no 10 million pound player in a million years he's a very good winger with a stinking attitude and a delusion that Arsenal should be interested I say we sell him on and bring in a replacement

£8 million. He's got a load of potential and no doubt will play for his nation in years to come.

His value to this club, right now, is more than any fee we could get for him. I don't think he'd bring much more than £6M right now...

Get rid of the stupid bobble head.

If he can be used to get Ashton or Lennon it'd be a great bonus.

I'll never stop demanding:

What do people find attractive about Aaron Lennon? He is not an improvement on Milner. Would be money wasted. If Zog is sold the proceeds need to go directly to a left-footed midfielder as we'll be fresh out.
