Barton Pleads Guilty

Joey Barton entered a guilty plea at Manchester Minshull Crown Court today ahead his trial for assault occasioning actual bodily harm on former team-mate Ousmane Dado in what would have been his 3rd criminal trial of 2008. The 25 year old pleaded not guilty at a former hearing and told the court at the time he “strenuously denies" the charge.

Several current, ex and retired Premiership footballers were due to give evidence at the trial as witnesses and photographic evidence was due to be submitted by the prosecution.

Barton who is currently serving 6 months for assault and affray now awaits sentencing.

The maximum sentence for ABH is 5 years.

He MUST get a longer sentence surely, how long will they wait for him....

He messed up Dabo right proper. No way he wanted the case to go forward with evidence presented and whatnot. He'll still probably get a real sentence and then it's "see ya, Jo-Jo."
