2008/2009 Key Fixtures At A Glance
By Tyne-Talk June 16 2008
Kevin Keegan will be looking for his side to perform from the off as he goes into his first complete campaign since rejoining the club in January of this year. The 2008/2009 season kicks off for Newcastle United at Old Trafford as Manchester United host the 3pm KO on Saturday 16th August....

...and the fixtures don't get much easier during August as Newcastle take on Bolton in their second match and then finish the month off with a trip to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal.

For some it's ideal to get the big games out of the way first, as we all know you have to play them at some point for others big games throughout the season keep the player on their toes.

Newcastle United do not play their first back to back home games until the end of October and early November which is swiftly followed by their first back to back away games towards the end of November.

Christmas looks to be eventful as Newcastle entertain Tottenham on the 20th of December and Wigan looking to ruin the Christmas celebrations on Boxing Day at the JJB. Keegan's men will travel to Anfield to complete the festive line-up on the 28th of December.

New Years Day is empty with no Premier League matches in the second half of the season until the 10th January.

As the season draws to an end, games against Liverpool, Middlesbrough, Fulham and Villa on the last day could determine Newcastle's final league position.

Please do not put the full fixture list on the forums.

Well looking ahead, I'd say having Boro and Fulham in the last three weeks of the season makes up for the rough start to some extent.

Most importantly, I'll be expecting a x-mas gift from the Toon in the form of another thrashing of the spuds.(Sm110)

We've got to play the Mancs sometime and the first day of the season is as good as any.
Bring em on.

Oh and we have the Mackem Derby game on my birthday (Jan 31st) (Sm60)
