Squad News NUFC v SAFC
By Tyne-Talk April 19 2008
There are plenty of Newcastle United players struggling with injury who will be unable to feature this weekend as Newcastle host Sunderland in the 139th Tyne-Wear derby (or 124th league Tyne-Wear derby), but Newcastle seem to have finally got over worrying about injured players and are proving that the rest of the team can do just as well without them.

Emre will not feature at the weekend as he is still recovering from an ankle injury, neither will James Milner who has failed to establish his fitness ahead of the game. Given is also out until the end of the season. Claudio Cacapa looks set to miss the derby match due to a groin problem, but Newcastle will be missing nobody through suspension.

Peter Ramage looks unlikely to start though there is a possibility he could make the bench, and Stephen Carr appears to have proved himself fit enough to play and will also be hoping to feature on the bench.

Keegan looks set to start all three of his strikers once more as he looks to grab the clubs 49th win against Sunderland.

Michael Owen will be Sunderland's biggest concern, is Newcastle's top goal scorer with 10 goals this season and 6 goals in 10 games. Kenwyne Jones holds Sunderland's top goal scorer title with 7 premier league goals this season.

Former Newcastle youngster Michael Chopra could feature for Sunderland and has already warned his old club to watch out because he will show them what they missed out on by selling him to Cardiff.

Sundeland will miss Dickson Etuhu who has been ruled out for the rest of the season after sustaining a knee ligament injury and Dwight Yorke is unlikely to start after failing to shake off a knee injury.
