In addition to the previous article on the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation launched today, Tyne-Talk is pleased to provide the necessary details to ensure you can successfully donate to the charity. Below you will find a link directly to the "Pledge" page and another to the foundation's homepage.

Sir Bobby Robson has today launched his new charity which aims to raise funds of up to £500,000 to enable the Sir Bobby Robson Cancer Trials Research Centre at the new Northern Centre for Cancer Care to be set up. Once in action the Trials Research Centre will focus on early detection treatment and clinical trials.

The new facilities will include a 12 bed unit with treatment rooms, a state of the art laboratory and consulting facilities at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.

Sir Bobby Robson is currently fighting his 5th battle with cancer, over the last 15 years he has undergone surgery 4 times. His most recent diagnosis came in Spring 2007 when he was found to have cancerous nodules on his lungs, he then completed a 6 week chemotherapy course. The diagnosis originally 12 months ago, was that this time the tumours were inoperable.
