Gannon confirmed as new boss
By grabar
June 30 2009
Motherwell will today announce their new boss is former Stockport boss Jim Gannon, who will replace Mark McGhee.

Motherwell are holding a press conference later today to announce their new manager, who will be Jim Gannon who was released by Stockport when they went in to Administration.

The manager has a real challenge ahead of him both in the short term and the also in the mid to longer term. In the short term he has to prepare for the Llanelli game on Thursday in the Europa League.

The challenge on Thursday may not be too great given he only has eleven or twelve players to pick from. But this does provide the challenge that he has to get the best out of the eleven he picks to ensure we progress,

In the longer term he has to put a squad together ahead of the League season as he neesd to add depth to almost every position in the side, particularly with the club not only releasing those out of contract and selling the other quality players.

David Clarkson has already gone to Bristol City while it is rumoured Paul Quinn could be heading to Cardiff!

We wish Gannon all the best and hope he can meet the challenges being thrown it him.
