the side had to do without the services of Brian McLean, Paul Quinn, John Kennedy, Darren Smith and Paul Slane who were all feeling slight twinges are weren’t risked asked Czech side FC Zlin.
Well started the game minus Brian McLean, who could miss the whole season, Paul Quinn, Darren Smith and Paul Slane due to minor twinges picked up in training. Also missing was loan signing target John Kennedy.
The score line was level at 0-0 at half time with the Czech's coming close thanks to a shot that rebounded clear off the cross bar.
Motherwell made five changes at half time, but the Czech side capitalised on the changes and were two up within three minutes. David Clarkson pulled a goal back just two minutes later to notch his second of the tour.

Sadly this wasn't to be enough on the day, the worrying thing from the two games in Austria were the reports that goals were still being leaked from crosses, something that was our achilles heel last season. Unless Mark McGhee can fix this ASAP it could be a long hard season.
After the game Manager Mark McGhee also announced he would not be pursuing his interest in the two foreign trialists who had played in the two games.
Motherwell: Smith (Pidgeley), Connolly (Archdeacon), Hammell, Craigan, Reynolds, Le-Randé (Lasley), Malcolm (Robles), Hughes (Fitzpatrick), McGarry (O’Brien), Porter, Murphy (Clarkson)
