Walker recruits Hogg and Wilkinson
By Sebastian Gibb June 16 2008
City have signed central midfielders Steven Hogg and Ben Wilkinson for the forthcoming season. Left-footed Hogg, 22, has joined the Blue Square Premier club from Gretna, having been at Shrewsbury before that. Wilkinson, 21, was recently released by Hull City. City manager Colin Walker told BBC Radio York: "These players can play in a variety of positions, not just one position.

Hogg is a former Man Utd younster while Wilkinson is the son of former Leeds United manager Howard Wilkinson.

He was a youth player at Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United and Derby County and had a trial with City in January.

Walker said: "I think Steven is six foot three, he's played left back, he's played left-sided centre half, we're trying to select players who can multi-task.

"I know they say men can't multi-task but we're going to get these footballers to do that."
