Wantaway turncoat Wroe seals Torquay switch

Bad end to the season
By Sebastian Gibb May 30 2008
Former Barnsley midfielder Nicky Wroe has joined Torquay United for a five figure sum. After 10 goals in 27 starts Wroe chose to turn his back on the club who re-launched his career and paid three grand for an operation on his injury at the back end of last season. Walker is looking to secure the services of three new players this week so the squad can be rebuilt for kick-off in August.

Exeter City have completed their move for ex City star Manny Panther and he has joined up with the League Two outfit.

Meanwhile City of York Council have agreed to take on the clubs £2 million Football Foundation loan as long as the books are found to be in order.  The council also confirmed their desire to locate and build a community stadium in York, through the sale of Huntington Stadium and Bootham Crescent.
