Eastbourne and Barrow clinch BSP berths

Another long trip south
By Sebastian Gibb May 9 2008
Eastbourne Borough and Barrow have joined Lewes and Kettering in clinching promotion to the Blue Square Premier after both sides emerged victorious in the Conference South and North playoff finals. The Sussex club overcame Hampton & Richmond 2 - 0, while Barrow edged past Stalybridge Celtic 1 - 0.

Eastborne manager Garry Wilson on his hopes for next season: "Survival will be key. We are realistic and hopefully we can make an impact like Salisbury and Histon."

Barrow sneaked into the playoff frame late on and a Matt Henney goal was enough for them to see off Stalybrige at the Pirelli Stadium.

City will welcome the relatively short trip to Cumbria and the Bluebirds will no doubt look out for us when the fixtures are released.
