Wooly eyes league football with City

Woolford - ambitious
By Sebastian Gibb May 3 2008
York Press player of the season Martyn Woolford has revealed how winning the BSP with City would be the perfect route into league football for the talented winger. Wooly was a regular in the side last season, operating on the left wing but also utilised to good effect as a striker, notably at Alrincham in the 2 - 2 away draw.

Signed from Frickley Athletic back in 2005, the 22-year-old has fast become a fans favourite at KitKat Crescent - netting 17 times last season.

Speaking about his future ambitions, Wooly told the York Press:

"I've said before it's one of my personal goals to get in the league. I don't think there's anything wrong with that - I want to play at the highest of levels.

"Winning the league with York would be the best-case scenario and that's my ambition for next season."
