City line up Middlesbrough test

Bringing a strong squad
By Sebastian Gibb April 25 2008
Gareth Southgate's Middlesbrough side will visit KitKat Crescent on Friday, 18th July as part of three fixtures already arranged. The Boro boss has indicated he will bring a first-team squad for the game so we should get glimpses of several internationals like Stuart Downing and Alfonso Alvez.

City have also announced we'll host Leeds Utd a week earlier on the 11th July, this after travelling to Tadcaster Albion on Tuesday, 8th July.

Talking to the York Press, Colin Walker said of the two home fixtures: "Middlesbrough and Leeds will provide us with two terrific games and we want to get big crowds to come along because that will help boost the coffers. I'm also hoping to get a couple more games to give us four cracking matches to look forward to."

Mate - can we not go on tour...always seems to be friendlys against Boro, Hartlepool, Sheffield FC etc.(usually at home )

Trip to Cornwall / Devon would be good say Torquay, Truro City, Bath City as a start....would be a refreshing change and a chance for City fans to take in a bit of football while on hols ?

I see where you're coming from there but I would guess this brings more money into the club (guaranteed to be good attendances). I hope Boro do field a good side but I'm not holding my breath after the disappointment of recent friendlies.
