3 players out as Walker starts summer clear-out

Evans - released
By Sebastian Gibb
April 24 2008
Colin Walker has dispensed with the services of three first team players as he looks ahead to next seasons campaign. Tom Evans, Darren Craddock and Stuart Elliot have been told today their futures lie away from Kit Kat Crescent at the end of this season.

Evans has spent two seasons with the Minstermen but has been told he isn't part of York City's plans next term.  With only reserve stopper Josh Mimms left as back-up, Walker will definitely be in the market for a keeper in the summer.

Right back Craddock, who joined from Hartlepool Utd, has also completed two seasons with the club but has found first team opportunities limited recently with the arriaval of Ben Purkiss.

And defensive midfielder Elliot will move on after just one season having moved to City from Northwich Victoria.  Simon Rusk and Jimmy Beadle have emerged as the most likely candidates to take over the anchor role in midfield, should Walker decide to continue with that system.
